Ferronickel is mixer of Nickel and iron. It's a ferroalloy with a nickel content of 35% and an iron content of 65%. Carbothermic reduction of serpentine minerals such limonite, garnierite, and serpentinite yields ferronickel. It's a solid metallic material with a shining finish. Nickel is the fifth most abundant element on the planet. It's mostly found in oxide, sulphide and silicate minerals in nature. Nickel is a very valuable commercial metal. It is vital to the advancement of global industry.
The strength, ductility, superior thermal and electric conductivity, corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, and catalytic are qualities of ferronickel. Austenitic stainless steels are the most common application for ferronickel. These stainless steels are non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant, and widely used, contributing for 70-75% of global stainless steel output. Despite its relatively high cost, ferronickel has proven to be a very creative and value-added material. Under typical storage settings, ferronickel is stable; nevertheless, when exposed to carbon dioxide, it has a danger of producing hazardous gas.
